Brands & Share of Voice

The Brands tab is your competitive intelligence hub — showing exactly how your brand stacks up against competitors across all AI platforms.

Share of Voice

The headline metric: what percentage of total AI mentions go to your brand vs. competitors.

Example: If AI platforms mention 5 brands a total of 200 times, and your brand is mentioned 50 times, your share of voice is 25%.

Share of voice is broken down by:

  • Overall — Across all platforms and queries
  • By platform — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity individually
  • By intent — Informational, transactional, comparison, navigational queries
  • Trend — How your share has changed over time

Competitive Positioning

A ranked view of all tracked brands showing:

MetricWhat It Shows
RankYour position relative to competitors (1st, 2nd, 3rd...)
MentionsTotal times each brand is mentioned
Avg. PositionAverage position in AI responses (lower = better)
SentimentOverall sentiment score per brand
Visibility RatePercentage of queries where the brand appears

Brand vs. Product Analysis

AI platforms sometimes mention your brand name (e.g., "Sensodyne") and sometimes your specific products (e.g., "Sensodyne Pronamel"). This analysis shows:

  • How often AI mentions the brand vs. specific products
  • Which products get the most AI visibility
  • Whether competitors are mentioned at the brand or product level

If AI platforms mention your competitors' specific products but only your brand name generically, it may indicate that competitors have better product-level content and differentiation in AI training data.

Head-to-Head Comparisons

  • Side-by-side mention counts
  • Sentiment comparison
  • Platform-by-platform breakdown
  • Query-level wins and losses
  • Strengths and weaknesses of each brand

Gap-to-Leader Metrics

How far you are from the category leader on each dimension:

  • Mention gap — How many more mentions the leader gets
  • Position gap — How many positions higher the leader ranks
  • Sentiment gap — Difference in sentiment scores
  • Visibility gap — Difference in visibility rates

These gaps directly inform your Action Plan — the bigger the gap, the higher the priority.

  • Platforms where you're strongest (focus on maintaining)
  • Platforms where competitors dominate (focus on improving)
  • Platform-specific biases and preferences
  • Opportunities to gain ground on specific platforms
