What Is a Benchmark?
A benchmark is a comprehensive analysis of an entire product category. Instead of focusing on one brand and its competitors, a benchmark analyzes every major brand in a category simultaneously, producing a complete market map of AI visibility.

Each benchmark report covers:
- Brand Rankings — All major brands ranked by GSEO Score
- GSEO Scores — Composite scores for every brand in the category

- Sentiment Distribution — How AI platforms feel about each brand
- Platform Comparison — Which AI platforms favor which brands
- Query Performance — How brands perform across different query types
- Position Tracking — Average ranking positions for each brand

Drilldown Analysis
Benchmark reports support the same drilldown panels as the main dashboard:
- Brand Drilldown — Deep dive into any brand's performance within the benchmark
- Platform Drilldown — Compare how each AI platform treats the category
- Query Drilldown — Analyze specific query types and intents
- Sentiment Drilldown — Detailed sentiment analysis across all brands
Accessing Benchmarks
Industry Benchmarks are managed by platform administrators. If you're an admin, navigate to Benchmarks in the sidebar to create and manage benchmarks. If you're an enterprise user, published benchmarks appear as Industry Reports.
Benchmark Categories
Benchmarks can be created for any product category. Examples:
- Oral Care (Toothpaste, Mouthwash)
- Athletic Footwear (Running Shoes, Training Shoes)
- Productivity Software (Project Management, Note-Taking)
- Electric Vehicles (Sedans, SUVs)
